Key Security Deposit/Damage To & Removal of Hotel Property 

Hotels generally require that a credit card number be kept on file with all reservations in order to cover the costs of incidentals, excessive damages (outside of what would be considered reasonable and customary) and unauthorized removal of items from the space, which may only be determined after guests have departed.  This allows hotels to be able to provide guests with high quality facilities, without the liability of excessive replacement costs associated with the upkeep and maintenance of the space.  

As a small, family-run facility Narakiel’s does not currently require that guests provide credit card numbers at the time of booking.  However, we do require that a FULLY REFUNDABLE Key Security Deposit be provided for each guest room.  This deposit will be US $30 per room for single and double occupancy; a receipt will be provided at the time of payment.  This deposit will be refunded in full upon the guest’s departure.  Conversely, if the keys are not returned to the Manager upon departure, the return of the full deposit will automatically be forfeited. 

In order to facilitate the return of the Key Security Deposit, prior to departure all guests are required to contact the Inn’s Manager or other designated person to inform him of their approximate time of departure so that he can receive the keys.  At such time, the Manager will return the Key Security Deposit in FULL to the guest(s).  However, if one or more of the following are determined, some or all of this deposit will be retained by Narakiel’s in order to cover the associated cost.  These include the following:

-      Excessive damage of furnishings and appliances beyond typical and reasonable wear and tear
-      Linens and/or towels being taken from the space
-      Cutlery, glassware, flatware, cooking utensils and pots/pans being removed from the space
-      Any signs of violation of the Inn’s SMOKE-FREE policy in rooms
-      Unauthorized removal of any items from the rooms that are provided solely for use during a guest’s stay
